Cindy Wilson was the winner from our very own Xmas Factor! Cindy currently studying for her GCSEs goes to Whitworth High School and has a huge talent. In December 2008 Cindy won our competition and the fantastic prize of a day in a recording studio. This is her story of the day,

On Saturday 13th December, Cindy had a taste of the life of a pop star! Cindy was met at the centre by a white stretch Limousine where a red carpet was set out and she and friends cruised round Rochdale. With over-flowing champagne flutes, filled with orange juice of course, and listening to their favourite tunes, Cindy and her friends were driven around like super stars.

After the ride around, Cindy made her way down to Astar studios to record her winning song. There she was met by Peter and Andy Ross all the time accompanied by her own paparazzi-style photographer . Cindy was shown around the recording room which was just fantastic. She was so nervous so a few demo songs were played for her to warm up and for Andy to get to know Cindy as an artist.

After an introduction to the equipment and after Andy had heard the vocals they decided to get on with recording the song. Cindy was a natural in the studio! Some artists take days to record songs but within a few hours Cindy had recorded the whole thing and all that were left to be done was the editing.

To complete Cindy’s prize, she was awarded with 150 copies of the CD to sell to friends and relatives so the money could then be donated to the school funds – so Whitworth High school were winners all round. This was really a wonderful prize and something Cindy will remember for a long time – and 2009 could be your chance to shine and become our Xmas Factor winner when the competition returns in November.
